Mountain Bike Hire.

To Hire - "procure the temporary use of a thing for an agreed payment". Concise Oxford Dictionary.

At Wheelie Cyprus we are pleased to provide quality mountain bikes and race bikes (road bikes) for hire in the Pafos district of Cyprus. We do not deliver bikes to Larnaka, Limassol, the Troodos or the Turkish occupied north of the island. Please note that we do not provide childrens' bikes and that our smallest bikes are suitable for riders of 153cms (5 Feet)or larger.

Please note that we do not have a shop. For your ease we provide a delivery and collection service to your accommodation. If you are staying in the Polis/Latchi area the service is free. Outside this area we will have to make a delivery charge.

Our premium bikes - new for 2017 - are our Felt Nine 50 Mountain bikes. This is a 10 Speed 29er Mountain Bike well suited to the Cyprus trails. In addition we have a number of Trek 6000 series bikes. These are 10 speed bikes with 26inch wheels. All of our bikes have hydraulic disc brakes and front suspension.

Both bikes are well suited to the Cyprus trails. This is an island with a vast selection of cross-country style riding with plenty of climbing and descending. The descending is not downhill stuff - it's technical in places - but not in a big jumpy sort of way. If you are in-training then you will love some of the continuous climbing available here; 4 to 5 kilometres at a time - phew!

If you just want to cruise around the Polis area at a leisurely pace then we still have some of our old Orange Gringo mountain bikes. These bikes are perfect for the exploration of the Akamas coastline or a simple exporation of Polis and Latchi villages.

When you hire a bike from us, included in the hire is a helmet, a pair of riding gloves, a water bottle and spare inner tube. Each group of riders will be given pumps and a mini tool - just in case. We will also happy to suggest some good areas to ride. If you are going to ride without a guide have a look at our page on the ride kit that you might want to take with you on your ride.

During the summer months it can be seriously hot and dusty out on the trails, you must keep hydrated. Although we provide a water bottle, you would be well advised to bring your own hydration pack if you have one, or at least a backpack in which to carry spare water.

As part of our mountain bike hire service and for your convenience we can deliver the bikes to your villa hotel or apartment and are happy to suggest some routes for you to ride. Go on, get out there and explore a different Cyprus. Enjoy!

Rescue Service

We have on occaisions had to rescue riders from some remote locations. Please be aware that whilst we are happy to come and rescue you if you get stuck or lost somewhere, we will charge you for the priviledge. If you take the bike to a remote location we do expect you to have a degree of mechanical ability; changing an inner tube after a puncture for example or putting on a slipped chain. In addition we expect you do have a degree of navigational ability. Whilst we will suggest routes for you, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are confident that you know where you are going. If you do get lost a quick phone call to us will normally get you back on track. If you run out of steam again we will come and get you but there will be a charge.

GPS Hire.

If you are not too sure where to ride in Cyprus we are more than happy to sit down with you and suggest some good areas to ride. We always give you a photocopied map with some suggested routes outlined. However, modern times have arrived in Cyprus and we now have some GPS units available to hire. The units are programmed with some suggested rides, just follow the instructions and you have more time to enjoy the wonderful Cyprus countryside without the fear of getting lost. See our GPS page for more information.
